The Haunted Halloween Escape Room

If your idea of Halloween is spending the night in an escape room, this is right up your alley. Located about an hour from Toronto in Cobourg is the King George Inn. It’s the only escape room you can stay and explore in a real haunted jail. For a price of $150 per person, you get a 4-course meal, ghost hunt, accommodations in a jail cell, the escape room adventure, and a souvenir.

If you don’t want to stay the night or want to spend less, they do have other options. The lowest-priced option is $40 dollars, and you’re still going to get the scare of a lifetime. According to the inn’s website, Cobourg jail was one of the largest in its day, holding almost 100 prisoners. The location now operates as a hotel and is open to the public on any given day. However, during Halloween, they have a special event in the form of a haunted escape room.

Who knows what you’ll see and hear while inside of the old jail. Could it be part of the show or could it be part of the permanent residents that haven’t left the building? Lizzie Borden Museum

The Lizzie Borden house is the infamous site of an unsolved double homicide that took place in August of 1892. Andrew and Abby Borden were discovered bludgeoned to death in the house on 2^nd st. over 120 years ago.

They do have day tours; however the night tours last a lot longer and get more into detail about the rooms and all of the paranormal activity that takes place in the house. Lizzie was the prime suspect in the murders; however they failed to ultimately prove she was the murderer. Authorizes did find several weapons the basement of the home, including a hatchet-head with a broken handle.

Guests are always eager to hear about the paranormal occurrences that take place inside of the home. All of the tour guides have had some kind of creepy thing happen to them. During the tour they share their experiences with the guests.

They even have some of the staffs reenact the gruesome night and scenes that took place in the house. Sometimes those reenactments stir up some energy and some pretty creepy things start to happen. Ottawa, Ontario’s Ottawa hostel has a very insane reputation for being haunted. The hostel which was a former jail that was decommissioned in 1972 has some very terrifying stories behind it. Hostelling International purchased the building and left a lot of it in its original state. Now guests are able to interact with the theme of staying the night in a jail.

The top floor of the jail which served as the jails ‘death row,’ has been restored to its original condition and tours are done on a daily basis. In 2009, they opened a bar called Mugshots that’s open in the courtyard during the summer months.

Most of the jail is almost back to its original state including the area of the gallows. Some years back they found a lot of unmarked graves and it’s hard to tell how many more on the grounds of the jail there really are. The jail had a very bad reputation for the inhuman treatment of the prisoners.

Some say a lot of those prisoners who died in the jail didn’t leave. Others say the place has a negative vibe hanging over it and that you can feel the energy when you’re visiting. Now it’s hostel you can stay at if you’re brave enough.

There’s something spooky brewing this Valentine’s weekend in Pennsylvania’s 300 year old Brinton Lodge mansion. It’s the return of the of their 5^th annual Valentine’s ghost tour. The candle light tour of the 300 year old mansion features some pretty intense ghost stories with their own Valentine’s twist on things.

The tour ends with a nightcap of chocolate, wine, and beer and some questions and relaxation. The tour showcases some of the mansions creepy love stories and showcases some of the ghosts of the lovers that still haunt the mansion. Other stories about some of the tragic incidents that happened near and around the area will be told.

The event is only happening on Feb. 14-15 and is from 9:30-11pm. Tickets can be purchased on www.brintonlodge.com website. The proceeds will benefit the preservation of Brinton Lodge which was transformed into a mansion in the early 1900’s by a wealth family.

A Haunted Candlelight Dinner

This Valentine ’s Day, you and a loved one can have a candle light 3 course meal in one of the most haunted hotels in the USA, the Menger Hotel. Sister Grimm Ghost Tours is inviting you to a creepy Valentine’s ghost tour and treat. You have the choice to select 1 of 2 options, a candlelight dinner and walking tour, or the dinner and bus tour.

They will give you a history of the hotel and all of the creepy history behind it. There are numerous ghosts that reside on the grounds of the hotel. Who knows, one may just pop up as a dinner guest. The Menger Hotel located on the Alamo Plaza and has seen a plethora of history being that it’s located at the Alamo.

The hotel has witness Roosevelt’s Rough Riders recruitment, fires, a ton of robberies, and all kinds of other strange things. In its hay day it was known as the “finest hotel west of the Mississippi” and was ultra-popular destination.

Fast forward over a 100 years and the location is still popular. However all the tragedy and violent events that took place near and around the hotel have left a creepy mark on it. There are a TON of stories of ghostly activity, and some say even Teddy Roosevelt himself still haunts the location every now and then.

Eureka Springs, Arkansas’s “Crescent Hotel” has been dubbed ‘America’s most haunted hotel’ and for a very good reason. There are daily reports of paranormal activity that come from guests and staff alike. Some say the past employees and patrons who passed away came back and never left.

Officially known in 1886 as the Crescent Hotel and Spa, the hotel has had a very creepy reputation for quite some time. Since then the hotel has embraced the reputation of being the most haunted hotel in the United States.

They have various activities on a regular basis and even have paranormal conventions and ghost tours. The Crescent offers year round ghost tours, ghost stories, séances, and around Halloween there are various spooky activities for the entire family.

This Valentine’s day you can book a creepy stay that includes 1 night stay in a premium room. Also included are breakfast for 2 in the Crystal dining room, 2 tickets to a ghost tour, and 2 ghost t-shirts. The hotel has been on numerous television shows like Ghost Hunters, My Ghost Story, among many others.

The ghost tours are not intended for kids 8 and under but they do have a lot of other spooky activities that are kid friendly. The Most Haunted Hotel In Texas

It was vacant for over 20 years and was home to burglars, squatters, drug users, rats and vandalism. Texas’s Magnolia hotel has had a pretty scary past full of murderers, prisoners, Texas Rangers, and all kinds of crazy things. The hotel first opened up as a 2 room log cabin in the 1840’s. A huge basement was built under the cabin that was used as a jail. At one point in time the jail was dubbed “The worst jail in Texas”.

Many say those who were locked up down there haven’t left, and that the residue of all the negative energy still resides in the basement and other areas of the building. There were other horrible things that happened on the grounds of the property. It was at one time it was also home to a serial killer who was eventually caught and shot by someone who was disgusted by his acts.

This Valentine’s Airbnb and the Magnolia are inviting you to stay the night in the creepy yet really cool hotel. Couples will get a box of candy, bouquet of flowers, and a simple card. What better way is there to spend Valentines then in a haunted hotel with your loved one.

If you love the hit show American Horror Story and you especially love the Coven season, you’re in for a treat. If you didn’t know by now you know that Marie Laveau’s house is an actual place that you can now rent through Air bnb. For those of you who watched the show would you hesitate to rent this home or would you jump at the chance?

The New Orleans home was constructed in 1855 and is said to be one of the most haunted and creepiest houses in the world. Could it be because of all of the voodoo rituals that went on way back when?

The house holds up to 6 gets and you can rent it for a mere $317 dollars a night. Not too bad considering where you’re staying at, that is if you have the guts to stay the night.

Chattanooga, Tennessee’s historic Read House was built in 1872 after the previous house built there “ The Crutchfield House” burnt down. From the get go the Read houses foundation already had seen war, death, floods, and a lot of misery. After 172 years of being open you have to think about all the residual energy that has been imprinted on the location. So many years of different emotions and feelings in one place, it’s hard to not to think something isn’t going to be left behind.

But what about room 311?

The story is that supposedly the ghost of a woman who had her throat slashed haunts the room. Numerous people have witnessed strange lights and sounds coming from the room when no one was in the room. Even worse is that when people stay the room they almost always either see, feel , or hear something while visiting.

It also seems to be that the spirit doesn’t like men, due to the fact that she was murdered by a man who can blame her. Numerous paranormal researchers have stayed in the room and have gotten some pretty interesting evidence.

One theory behind the room is that there is some spiritual portal or some kind of energy vortex In the room that gives the spirit power. Others say it’s just the fact that such a horrifying and traumatic experience that’s causing all of the paranormal stuff in room 311.

Could it be that when something like that happens it opens a gate to a dark dimension without even knowing it? For a very long time now the room has been off limits but just recently the room has been opened to the general public. If you’re a horror movie fan, by now you have either seen or heard of Stephen King’s book ” The Shining”. Or maybe you’ve seen the iconic and terrifying movie that starred Jack Nicholson. Either way, if you’ve watched the movie it probably left you a little speechless.

If you were like us you probably wondered how the heck Stephen King actually came up with the whole story and idea for it all. Well if you have you’re about to be in for a treat today.

So what do we know about the Stanley Hotel and it’s paranormal activity.? Some say a lot of the spirits that are in the hotel are ones that have come back. They enjoyed it so much in life that when they died they came back to the hotel. Others say there’s a spiritual vortex or some kind of energy center near or within the hotel.

However, some paranormal investigators say that it could be part of residual energy and part intelligent ghosts… Hmmm
