Mansfield, Ohio’s infamous Ohio State Reformatory is said to be one of the most haunted places in the United States. It was built in the late 1800s and remained in operation until 1990. The location has been used in many films and television shows. It’s also been a prime location for ghost hunters and paranormal investigations.

For years there have been rumors of some creepy things going on inside the prison walls. Some say the land itself is haunted and that even way back when it was being built. Could it be the building is a conductor for the paranormal, a sort of energy center that collects bad experiences?

Who knows!

What is known is that there isn’t a shortage of stories stemming from this place. Most of the really creepy stories stem from the areas where prisoners were held on lockdown for 23 hours a day. Could the pain and suffering and anger from these individuals that stayed behind? There are a lot of theories and rumors of what is and what could be, but one thing is for sure and that is something paranormal is going on at the Ohio State Reformatory.
