Witches Dungeon Classic Movie Museum
Witches Dungeon Classic Movie Museum is located in Bristol, Connecticut, and is known as one of the top 10 weirdest places in Connecticut you can go. I don’t know WHY it got that reputation; we think a classic horror movie museum is beyond awesome. The museum is owned and operated by Bristol-native Cortlandt Hull. Mr. Hull is the great-nephew of film actor Henry Hull. Josephine Hull was well known for her role in the classic film and play Arsenic and Old Lace.
The museum started off with classic life-size movie monster figures that were eventually replaced with top of the line wax ones. Some time ago the museum was moved to a larger location where they were able to expand and add a lot more to it. Now instead of just having a prop with a description, they have backdrops that bring the props to life.
They also have professional lighting that gives you a sense of creepiness while you’re taking your tour. The heads of many of the figurines were cast off of the real-life actors who portrayed them. All of the clothes and props are ones that were actually used on the set of various films. The only downfall of the museum is that it’s open during the weekend evenings in October. So if you’re planning on taking a trip this fall to the east coast, make sure you include this place in your plans!
